Summary :
Introduction. The RG3PE master’s degree was designed in remote learning, for occupational therapists, in a context of the emergence of distance learning. The objectives of this study were to analyse of the students of this master’s degree, and to analyse the experience of the teachers of the remote learning modality.
Method. This is a mixed study, combining a questionnaire for master’s students and focus groups for master’s students and teachers, open to maximum 6 participants at a time.
Results. Thirty students (100 %) completed the questionnaire. Twelve students and four teachers participated in the focus groups. Students had initial apprehensions about loneliness and lack of interaction. Various factors influenced their motivation over time, leading them to establish compensation strategies based on peer communication. The accessibility of the program due to the remote learning modality stood out as a major advantage (87 %), as well as interactions between students (57 %), and flexibility (50 %). They cited time management (40 %), as well as interactions with teachers (36 %) as the main challenges encountered. Teachers reported having had to adapt the objectives and teaching methods to meet the challenges of distancing.
Conclusion. This distance learning master’s degree can be both a vector of occupational justice and a challenge for occupational balance and transition, both for students and teachers. These results call for continued reflection on teaching and learning methods in the digital age.
