Summary :
Socio-Professional Integration Units (UISP) works for the professional reintegration and job retention of people with disabilities. By intervening in the phase of hospitalization they participate in the reduction of the risk of occupational deintegration. Their approach of multidisciplinary intervention promotes a global guidance of the person. Professionals from different sectors take action within these UISP some of them have dual skills. This is the case of some UISP Comete including that of Garches : the ergonomics work is done by a professional with an initial training in occupational therapy. This article discusses the added value of this dual competence on several levels. Within the UISP, it allows to ergonomist-occupational therapist to identify the patient’s abilities and disabilities in the light of scientific knowledge in occupational therapy training, and to integrate its elements during its intervention in the patient’ work environment. At the hospital level, it also facilitates exchanges with hospital-based rehabilitation teams. Finally, a collaborative work between the occupational therapist and the ergonomist-occupational therapist to enrich patient guidance.
