Summary :
The onset of Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD) is a complex and multidimensional issue which requires a personalized support. Non-pharmalogical approaches are recommended as first-line approaches by the HAS (HAS, 2009). Tailored activities are programs based on cognitive rehabilitation. They are used abroad by occupational therapists with people suffering from neurocognitive disorders. First, occupational history, occupational participation and BPSD are assessed in this program. Then a treatment plan based on a fit between the person, her/his occupation and the environment is implemented. There is a necessity to improve the transmissions at the hospital discharge in order to perpetuate patients’ benefits. Moreover, it is essential to develop research in France on this topic due to the lack of literature.
