Summary :
The “Ageing Well” working group was set up in 2022 as part of the Think Tank “Les Ateliers Mercure” to respond to the challenges of ageing in France, in a context of nursing homes crisis and public policy reform. Focusing on the issues of home care and healthy ageing, this multi-disciplinary and multi-professional group explored the problems of loss of autonomy, social isolation and ageism. After taking stock of needs and existing mechanisms, the group outlined a number of concrete proposals: strengthening coordination among stakeholders, incorporating meaningful activities into prevention campaigns, and conducting regional pilot initiatives. The project provided an opportunity for in-depth reflection on the role of occupational therapy from a systemic and population-based perspective, underlining the need for a comprehensive approach to promoting occupational justice and population health. Although voluntary and time-consuming, this initiative enriched the participants’ knowledge and contributed to inter-professional exchanges, offering promising prospects for action in public health.
