Summary :

Introduction: sustainable occupational transition is a concept coming from the occupational sciences. A sustainable occupational transition requires thought, commitment and can have significant consequences for the individual. Once the transition has started, several points such as its adjustment and stabilization are essential. The long-term sustainability of sustainable occupational transition can be influenced by many factors which are studied in this article.
Method: this study is based on an analysis of podcasts that are focusing on sustainable transition. The selection of podcasts was partly based on Kulkov’s method, but also on additional selection criteria. This selection was followed by a categorical and cross-sectional analysis of the podcasts.
Results: the detailed analysis of the podcasts has revealed many factors influencing the continuity of sustainable occupational transition. They can be divided into three groups. Those who are always in favour, those who are always unfavourable, and those that are either favourable or unfavourable depending on the individual’s perception. The
analysis highlights the importance of the individual themselves, as well as the consequences of the transition on their situation.
Discussion: a selection of scientific articles was used to complete and validate the results of the analysis. This selection confirmed the role of a triggering event to engage and sustain a sustainable occupational transition.
